The Hot Topic Talks are a series of short 10-20 minute presentations on the hot topics of the Circus of Life. We’ll look at fun things like how we can use music to lighten our moods, and learning some fun hints and tips on navigating your own family circuses. What to do if someone has ‘Flipped their Lid’, how to make social media work for your family, screen time and ‘Sharenting’. These are just some of the topics that will be addressed, all talks are accessible for parents to attend with their children, a full list of the talks, their descriptions and the times they will be presented will be posted below soon!
‘The Science of Music – Have Fun as You Discover!’
This first in the series of Hot Topic Talks explores the incredible power of music. The way it can restore us, energise us, relax us, just when we need it. But how exactly does it do this? Join us for this lively, interactive session where young and old alike will laugh out loud as we use fun activities to discover how our brains respond to music. Join us to find out what music does to our nervous system and how listening, even to sad music, can benefit our mood. How can we use music, intentionally, to promote and sustain the wellbeing of babies in the womb, young children, teenagers and ourselves as adults? Find out why and how singing, and even humming, are so good for our overall wellbeing.
